Hey Reader,

Wanted to catch you before I head out the door.

Today at 12:00pm PST, Hearth & Hollow is going live on OPB’s Think Out Loud, and the work happening in Clark County, and the conversation picks up that same thread.

  • How Hearth & Hollow started: the inauguration, a greenhouse I ordered without telling my husband, and a full body knowing that just said “plant something”
  • The food hub taking shape in Clark County with a collective of local farmers, and what it actually takes to build food infrastructure in this region that works for real people
  • What expanding food access looks like on the ground, including working with SNAP programs so that local food reaches more people than just the ones who can already afford it

Public radio is part of this for the same reason the food hub is: some things should belong to everyone - and right now both of them need defending.
