Garden planning class April 15th at 12:00pm PT

It's not too late to plan this season's garden! If you're feeling behind, don't sweat it. There's still plenty of time to get things in order to have a very productive garden this summer.

Reminder: all workshops are included with your CSA membership, so if you're a member and would like to come, just respond to this email and let me know.

Flat Tack Farm x Hearth & Hollow

Earlier this year I joined PNWCSA.org, an organization that does a lot of work behind the scenes to help people find and understand CSAs, what they do, and why they matter. I’ve been on a mission to meet the other small-scale growers within city limits and nearby, so when a member tour of Flat Tack Farm came up on the calendar, I was there.

Kelly and I connected at the farm tour, grabbed coffee afterward, and it pretty quickly became clear we had a lot of the same goals for food sovereignty and access for the area. One conversation led to another, and now, I'm thrilled to announce my raspberry jam is going to be available as an add-on through their farm box program this season.

Unlike a traditional CSA where you get whatever was harvested that week, Flat Tack Farm lets you choose exactly what goes in your box.

Here's how it works: you pre-purchase credits at the start of the season and use them to order from whatever they have available each week.

But here's the best part - you can get way more than just produce.

They've partnered with other fantastic local producers, which means you can add meat, eggs, mushrooms, and starting this season, raspberry jam from Hearth & Hollow to your box.

That's a full diet sourced locally, which is something most people don't realize is even possible to pull off this conveniently.

If you’ve been curious about CSAs but haven’t quite committed, PNWCSA is hosting a free CSA Demystified event on April 21st at the Kennedy School in Portland. And if you want a quick primer before then, here’s Holly from PNW CSA talking through it on KOIN.

Plant CSA

If you want edible plants and herbs for your garden, join the Plant CSA!

It's a great option if you want backups in case your seeds fail, don't have space to start your own seeds, or just want to hit the easy button and get some help and support for the season.

Curious about what kind of plants will you get? Take a peek at my seed collection here. (Don't worry, I'm happy to help you choose the best options for your space.)

Talk soon,

Dusti

P.S. The website got a lil glow up, and I'm just delighted with it. More to come soon!
