The dream worth the effort

Hey Reader,

My son Emerson is two and half, and like most kids that age, he absolutely loves going to the park.

My husband and I usually take him to the one closest to our house, but last week, we opted for one a little further away (but closer to ice cream). It was the right call - he got right to work exploring the new structure, giving a balance beam a try even when he couldn't reach the rails on either side of him.

To Emerson, dad is more of the fun park parent than mom is, so while they were running around, I looked around the park when I saw these.

Those are trapeze rings. Now, I was an active kid, but nailing the monkey bars took me a long time because I was afraid of falling. Eventually, I got over it, but then puberty hit, my weight changed, and I never really got back to doing them.

But recently, Instagram introduced me to this woman, Charity. She's an American Ninja Warrior cosplay queen who dresses up like dragon rider a la Fourth Wing and works out that way, too.

Like color me obsessed. Strong AF, hot AF, creative AF, like that's someone I want influencing me.

And let me tell ya, she did, because I looked up at those rings and thought, "I think I could do that."

I got up on the platform, put one hand on the first ring, took a deep breath, and swung my weight forward like I'd seen her do in her videos.

Here’s what I learned mid-air: I was readier than I thought.

The next hand landed on the next ring. Before I knew it, I'd gone across all of them, and then I turned around and did it again. It wasn't easy, but good god, you should have seen the goofy smile on my face.

It could've been just another day at the park. But that day? I decided to take my first real shot. And once I did, I realized the next ring was reachable.

Carrying a toddler, hauling groceries, throwing around bags of dirts out back - I'd been training for this moment without even realizing it.

Seeing Charity do it flipped the switch from maybe to why not me. That spark mattered - but sparks die without something to latch on to.

Inspiration is not enough to give a project legs - but a good plan? One that's rooted in your values, your desire, your belief that it can change your little corner of the world?

Now we're talking. And that’s exactly what we’re building in Friday's Quarterly Planning Workshop.

Together, we'll:

  • Design the MVP - that's minimum viable project - version of your dream, right-sized for Q4, the holidays, and your current capacity
  • Review the plan roadblocks and come up with solutions for handling them when they inevitably raise their heads
  • Get your great work on the calendar, because what gets scheduled gets done

This is an interactive workshop where you'll be doing the work in real time to take the fire you have for this project and transform it into a plan you can bank on.

If you want to work on the dream, do it in a room full of other people who are working on theirs, too.

And hey, if that that dream got louder while you read this, that’s your cue.

That’s all for now. Keep your standards high, your systems tight, and your exit emails spicy. Talk soon.

See you in the room,

P.S. As of this morning, we've got 14 spots left. Is one of them yours?
