The right kind of chaos

Hey Reader,
So I wanted to give you a thoughtful essay today on my new favorite book, The Serviceberry, but it needs another few days to simmer so I can tell the story I really want to.
Instead, I'm letting you in behind the scenes so you can see what I've been to - and the truth is that it's beautiful and wonderful and MESSY.
Proof:
Behold the chaos behind the scenes!
Ya girl is typically relentless when it comes to keeping a tidy space, but right now, there's a lot more physical stuff in my life than there usually is.
...And I'm actually low key loving it?
That's in part because I know it's temporary, but it's also because it feels like I'm giving a real gift to my community beyond the item itself.
This is my first time doing holiday markets, and I'm having a blast getting ready for them. Every time I curate a little gift basket with my raspberry jam or seed sprouting kit, I have a goofy grin on my face because it's a consistent, daily reminder - I'm doing exactly what I'm supposed to be doing. I'm finding ways to keep feeding people, one way or another. It's my deepest hope that when someone engages with me at the markets, they leave feeling a little bit more fed.
A little bit more satisfied.
Where I spent money this week:
Holiday Council
If you need a space for beautiful, intentional planning for next year, I want to invite you to join me for Holiday Council with my friend Molly Mahar of Stratejoy.
Molly is one of the only life coaches I ever recommend because she's the real deal. I've done this for over a decade now, and it really is just a wonderful wind down for the year. It's so affordable, and you won't regret it.
Annual Wall Calendar
Papersource discontinued my favorite full-year wall calendar a couple of years back, and I finally found a good replacement for it! (Good news Europeans, the company is based in the EU!)
There's just something about being able to see things at a glance and by quarter that works for me.
Persnickety
This is the cutest little vintage shop in Uptown Vancouver, and I've bought more than a few of my favorite pieces there over the past several years. This week, I snagged a pair of brand-new with tags jeans and a skirt that will be part of my holiday vendor outfit.
Persnickety is the freaking cutest ever.
Worth checking out:
WSU Grow Your Groceries course
My local extension office is offering this 12-week course at an incredible price. $150 for this is BANANAS. Even if you can't attend live, it's worth getting the replays.
Azure Standard
Ready to opt out of Big Grocery? Legit, you totally can! The organic raspberries in my jam are sourced from this fabulous business, as well as all of the bread flours I love. It's a different way of buying, and it's worth the effort.
